Over the past day, on August 28, militants opened fire on Ukrainian servicemen positions 32 times, using proscribed heavy weapons. This is reported by the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ on Facebook.
Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from the weapons of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, and in certain areas the enemy employed tanks, 122-mm artillery; 82-mm and 120-mm mortars.
«The enemy carried out shelling of our [Ukrainian army] positions in the areas of the settlements of CrimeanKrymske, Popasna, Troyitske, Novoluhanske, Mayorsk, Pivdenne, Novhorodske, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokyne,» – the report said.
In the areas of settlements Troyitske, Novoluhanske, Novhorodske, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Lebedynske and Vodiane carried out 9 attacks on Joint Forces positions using artillery systems and mortars banned by Minsk agreements. In addition, near Lebedynske the enemy fired at Ukrainian positions using main battle tanks.
Units of the Joint Forces fired back to suppress the enemy’s fire activity amid escalation.
