Prosecutor’s office of Zakarpattia oblast investigates issuing of Hungarian citizenship passports to citizens of Ukraine in Berehove city as treason.
This was reported in press service of prosecutor’s office of region, reports Unian.
«Information has been entered into ERDR and criminal proceedings have been registered on deliberate committing of actions by citizens of Ukraine to detriment of sovereignty, state and information security of country, which indicates presence of signs of a criminal offense under Part 1 st.111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason», said in message.
Prosecutor’s office noted that this is a video published by one of biggest media, in which citizens of Ukraine, swearing allegiance to another state, receive passports of Hungarian citizens. At the same time, officials of institution where the events took place recommended that they hide fact of receiving foreign citizenship from state structures of Ukraine.
As The Journalist reported, Larisa Nitsoy urged authorities not to stand aside in situation with Hungary and go on the «offensive».
