The law on the order of change of subordination to religious communities entered into force

In Ukraine, Law No.2673-VIII “On the Procedure for Changing Subordination by Religious Communities by Approving Amendments to the Statutes of 2/3 of the Voices Present at Authorized Meetings” came into force. About this reports 112. Ukraine.

Guided by the norms of the law, members of a religious community can convene a general meeting to approve a new charter or make changes to the old one. To change the subordination of a community, at least ⅔ of those present at the plenipotentiary meeting, confirmed by signatures, is necessary.

“Data on changes in the subordination of a religious organization are subject to registration. The law establishes what documents you need to submit for this. In particular, in the case of the formation of a new center of a religious organization, confirmation of such subordination is required. If not all documents are submitted, they will be returned to eliminate the deficiencies,” the message says.

A change to a subordinate and religious community does not affect its ownership and other property rights.
It is necessary to inform about the change of subordination to Ministry of Culture or the regional state administration, which in turn publish a message about it on their website.
It is not necessary to inform state authorities about the establishment of a religious community, except in the case of the formation of a legal entity.
