Zaporizhzhia NPP reaches full capacity

Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant connected power unit No. 5 to the grid after repair works and, for the first time in the history of Ukraine, reached its full design capacity. This was reported by the press service of Energoatom.

Previously, due to insufficient capacity of the existing transmission lines, Zaporizhzhia NPP operated with a maximum capacity of 5,300 MW. Reaching the design capacity became possible after the commissioning of a 750 kV-powerline from the nuclear power plant to the Kakhovska substation.
