Zelensky appoints commissioner for control over SBU activities

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Roman Semenchenko as presidential commissioner for control over activities of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU). This is stated in presidential decree #744/2019 dated October 11.

“To appoint Roman Semenchenko as commissioner of the president of Ukraine for control over the activities of the Security Service of Ukraine,” reads the decree.

Semenchenko headed the SBU department in Zhytomyr Oblast from September 2013 to March 2014. Prior to his appointment in Zhytomyr Oblast, he held the position of deputy head of the SBU department in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
