President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a traditional meeting held on July 20 said that Ukraine is ready for the second wave of coronavirus, but expressed hope that “it will bypass” Ukraine by.
According to the head of the government Denys Shmygal, since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Ukraine has conducted 877,000 tests for coronavirus infection, and has “quite moderate” 2.5% mortality rate.
Health Minister Maksym Stepanov in his turn said that the number of conducted tests is increasing daily. He also added that for the past three weeks, approximately the same level of indicators for identifying suspicions and infections has been maintained, and last week number of hospitalization cases in general has declined.
“The current situation made us to constantly be on alert, but we must not exaggerate the reaction. Today there are no critical outbreaks or any “red dots” associated with the spread of coronavirus infection in the country. The quantitative threshold of those who recovered exceeded 50 percent.
