President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on Israel to recognize the Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainian people.
The head of the Ukrainian state said this at a joint press conference in Kyiv with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Ukraine and Israel have long, close historical ties. Our peoples survived all the tragedies of recent history – the Holodomor and the Holocaust, World War Second, the totalitarian Soviet regime,” Zelensky said.
“I appealed to the Israeli side to recognize the Holodomor as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
