Reality of the present that there is a serious problem with the uncontrolled activities of marauders who contrary to current legislation are engaged in «black archeology» and from year to year uncontrolled search and illegal excavations of antiquities gain popularity.
The situation now is such that «collectors» form «museums» in their yard, where they place and still demonstrate the cultural values discovered in an illegal manner. An example of such a nihilistic attitude to the materials of antiquity was a collection of antiquities collected by a resident of Kherson oblast, about which the story was told by the journalists of «TSN».
The local resident «gathered» archaeological time-consuming material and put them on show in his own yard. Even the map was created. At the same time, in the course of the plot about this «mountain-museum», the journalist noted that «all exhibition objects of Pavlo (a local resident who created an «interactive museum»- Ed.) he has found here – in the fields of Prisivashya. He says his hobby is quite legitimate. However a comment by law enforcement agencies, whether this activity is legitimate, was not taken by journalists.
«Unfortunately, journalists are often ignorant of the fact that any archaeological work is strictly regulated by law and simply cannot be performed by anyone who wishes to do it on their own. And absolutely indifferent, it is a question of criminal trafficking for the purpose of subsequently selling artifacts on the «black market» or the creation of a private «museum», as shown in the plot. The law is violated in the two cases in the same way, and archaeological monuments cause irreparable harm», said Yevhen Sinitsa, an archaeologist, associate professor, board member of the «Union of Archaeologists of Ukraine».
But we must understand that in order to create such an interactive task, we must rob not one mound. In addition, according to the current legislation, if a treasure is discovered that constitutes a cultural value, the state acquires ownership of it.
