Residents of the occupied territories of Donbas will be able to vote in the next presidential elections in March 2019. This was reported by the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the LIGA.net information request.
"Voters, including residents of individual settlements of Donbas, can exercise their active electoral right in the next presidential elections on March 31, 2019," the report says.
The CEC noted that it is necessary to have passport to vote.
“According to Part 1of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens and the Legal Regime in the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine”, the election of the Ukrainian President in the ORDLO territories is not organized and not held,” the CEC recalled.
