WHO head calls on to distribute coronavirus vaccine equitably across the globe

World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus asks to avoid nationalism when distributing the coronavirus vaccine, The Hill reports.

“We need to prevent vaccine nationalism. In fact, sharing supplies [vaccines – ed.] strategically and globally is in the interest of each country. No one will be safe until everyone is safe,” Ghebreyesus said.

He noted that WHO is working on a plan for equitable distribution of the vaccine.

The first phase provides for the proportional distribution of the vaccine among the countries that participated in its creation and the second concern the countries that are at the most risk.

Also, the head of WHO calls for the first vaccine to be given to health workers and people aged over 65.
