The famous auction house sothebys put up for sale a rare collection of jewelry belonging to royals and beau monde of the 20th century.

An unusual lot – a necklace worth £ 3 million and a tiara created as the wedding gift of the last crown princess of Prussia Cecilia Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

The most expensive lot is an art deco style necklace with diamonds and emeralds from the collection of the American socialite Helene Beaumont. According to various estimates, its starting price is from £ 2 to £ 3 million.

Bidding will be held in May in Geneva, Switzerland.
