On February 18, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held a phone conversation with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. The Journalist reported with reference to the press center of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Ministers discussed recent contacts between the European Union and the Russian Federation. Pekka Haavisto spoke about the main issues that were raised during his visit to Russia on February 15.

Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude to Finland for its constant support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, practical assistance in overcoming the negative consequences of Russian aggression in the east of our country.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed his interlocutor about Russia’s violation of the ceasefire in Donbas, Moscow’s failure to fulfill its obligations to peacefully resolve the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict.

The parties agreed to hold political consultations of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Finland in the near future to further coordinate efforts to counter hybrid threats, strengthen national security, interact in international organizations, increase trade and other topical issues of bilateral relations.

Finally, the ministers discussed a schedule of political contacts between the two countries this year, in particular at the high and the highest levels.
