The audio guide in the Ukrainian language has already appeared in the Museum of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. This is reported by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul.
“Saint Sophia in Istanbul speaks Ukrainian. It was checked today by the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul Oleksandr Haman and the staff of the Consulate General. Friends, now, being in one of the most famous tourist places of Istanbul – the Museum of Hagia Sophia – you can hear its history in the native Ukrainian language. More than half a year ago, the Consulate General turned to the incredible Guide-UA and together with the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Turkey, we began working with Turkish partners to include Ukrainian in the list of languages that have audio tours in Hagia Sophia. The professionals from Guide-UA made a translation and in the new tourist season the audio guide sounded Ukrainian! We sincerely thank the Turkish colleagues and volunteers from Guide-UA, who supported our idea and helped, make Istanbul more interesting for Ukrainian-speaking tourists. We promise not to dwell on this, we are working to ensure that the Ukrainian language in Turkey and, in particular, in tourist Istanbul, is more,” the consulate’s website notes.
