April 8 in the world International Roma Day is celebarated.

The Government of Ukraine is making great efforts to help representatives of the Roma minority in integration processes, respect for their rights:
“In 2003 – 2006 in Ukraine, for the first time in the post-Soviet space, the “Program of state support for the national and spiritual revival of the Roma until 2006” was implemented, in 2011-2014. The Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Ukraine was implemented, providing for the implementation in Ukraine of measures to ensure the effective social integration of Roma: the development and adoption of a comprehensive national plan for Roma in Ukraine and the provision of tools for its implementation, including the Roma Intermediary Training Program “Dosta” event, from April 8, 2013, the Strategy of protection and integration into the Ukrainian society of the Roma national minority for the period up to 2020 was approved and the Action Plan of its implementation. “
There are many artistic, creative Roma groups in Ukraine.
Roma Jazz Festival is held annually in Uzhorod.
According to the experts of the Council of Europe, from 8 to 12 million Roma currently reside in the territory of 47 countries – members of this organization.
