Some 240 medical institutions in Ukraine were assigned for hospitalization of coronavirus patients with critical health condition. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

These hospitals have been chosen by the common decision of the heads of regional state administrations, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service of Ukraine (NSSU).

“Safety of the patient was defined as a top priority criterion. COVID-19 patients should be provided with all necessary medical care without the need to be transferred to another hospital if their condition worsens, and to prevent overlapping patients who were hospitalized due to other diseases with coronavirus patients and ensure their safe treatment,” the message reads.

The selected institutions are first-wave hospitals, and if the number of infected people increases, the number of hospitals will increase too.

“The hospitals are listed on new dashboard of the National Health Service of Ukraine. It contains information about the places of hospitalization and the level of equipment of institutions for the hospitalization of COVID-19 patients,” the Ministry of Health noted.

As The Journalist reported, Almost 55% of coronavirus patients in Ukraine aged between 18 and 49.
