The honorary patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Filaret decided to convene a “local council” of the Kyiv Patriarchate. BBC Ukraine writes about it.

“We are convening a pomestny cathedral (local council), where we are not going to approve the decision of the cathedral of December 15, 2018. If so, that decision is not obligatory for us. By this disapproval we mean to show that the Kyiv Patriarchate was, is and will always be. We call the cathedral on June 20”, Filaret said.

He also noted that the Kyiv Patriarchate did not accept Tomos concerning autocephaly.

“We did not know the contents of the Tomos we were given. If we knew the content, we would not vote for autocephaly last December 18. Because we have no need to move from one dependence to another”, Filaret added.

Previously The Journalist reported, that Filaret regretted about his proposed candidacy of Epiphanius for the post of Primate.
