The Kyiv City Council has approved the move to build a complex for the processing and disposal of plant waste. Such a decision was made by deputies of the Kyiv City Council during a meeting on October 24, the press service of the Kyiv City Council reports.
At a meeting of the city council, deputies approved a list of measures to be taken to protect the environment in the capital for 2019-2020.
The construction of the plant waste processing complex should solve the problem of fallen leaves accumulating in the city by burning them.
The environmental protection program includes clearing of the Lybid river bed, clearing and repair of structures on Lake Holube and reconstructions around the lakes in Nyvky Park.
“Planned measures to clean mercury-containing substances from the Radical OJSC industrial site which is one of the largest environmental problems in Darnytsya district,” the report said.
All activities will be financed from the Kyiv City Environmental Protection Fund.
