In the H1 of 2020, Poland issued more than 270,000 visas to Ukrainian citizens, which is 44.2% less than the same period in 2019. This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

Poland issued 269,875 national visas (type D) to Ukrainians, which is 44% less than in the H1 of 2019. Also, citizens of Ukraine received 485 Schengen visas (type C), which is 77% less than in 2019 (2,112).

The drop in the issuance of visas is explained by the coronavirus pandemic, since Polish consulates and visa centers were closed due to quarantine in Ukraine.

As of the end of 2019, there were more than 1.3 million Ukrainian citizens in Poland.
