Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka noted that the law on the postponement of fines for owners of cars with European registration plates is a priority and will be adopted on the first day of the work of new parliament, Liviy Bereh reports.

Riaboshapka recalled that the President Volodymyr Zelensky had already submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada, but the MPs did not support it.

“Now this is a priority LAW, and on the very first day of parliament’s work it will be adopted and the penalties will be delayed for three months. We will develop a new bill that will regulate the customs clearance of cars, because the existing legislation is imperfect and in many cases we simply cannot implement it,” Riaboshapka said.

He also emphasized that fines for owners of not cleared vehicles come into force on August 22, but the police will not be able to impose fines because they do not have access to customs bases.
