The volume of Ukraine’s industrial production decreased by 7.7% in December 2019 compared to the same month last year. This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
For the whole of 2019, industrial production dropped by 1.8%. In 2019, the decline in the mining industry and quarrying amounted to 0.0%, in the processing industry – to 2.0%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning – to 4.1%.
According to the calculations of the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, in the Q1 of 2020, the negative dynamics of Ukraine’s industry output is expected to continue.
Industrial production in Ukraine fell for four consecutive years: in 2012 – by 0.7%, in 2013 – by 4.3%, in 2014 – by 10.1%, in 2015 – by 13%. In 2016, it resumed growth, and over the year, volumes grew by 2.8%. In 2017, the growth amounted to 0.4%, in 2018 – 1.6%.
