Ukraine’s Parliament adopts law on protection of financial services consumers’ rights

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at second reading and as a whole supported the bill #1085-1 regarding the protection of rights of financial services consumers. This decision was backed by 309 deputies.

The bill was introduced by MP from the Servant of the People Party, Oleksandr Dubinsky.

“We obligated companies, which providing financial services, to clearly inform customers about the cost of these services and provide information on the cost of third-party services that they involve in the process of providing financial services. These are insurance companies, notaries, all commissions that are taken or not taken into account when issuing a loan or when repaying it,” Dubinsky said.

The bill provides a list of powers to protect the rights of financial services consumers of the NBU, the National Commission for Securities and Stock Market, as well as the National Financial Services Commission.
