The National Bank of Ukraine intends to introduce series of new banknotes and coins in the end of 2019 – beginning of 2020.
This was stated by the Director of the NBU Cash Circulation Department Viktor Zaivenko.
On December 20, coins of UAH 5 face value will be put into circulation and will gradually replace banknotes of the same denomination.
To Zaivenko, updated banknotes of UAH 50 face value will also be put into circulation.
The National Bank will put into circulation updated banknotes of UAH 200 face value from February 25, 2020.
Furthermore, NBU will put into circulation coins with a face value of UAH 10 in the Q2 of 2020. The financial regulator will inform on the exact date additionally.
