The most citizens of the US believe that the Russian government has compromising information about US President Donald Trump. These results follow from a new poll, conducted by Quinnipiac University, Connecticut.

About 51% of Americans believe in the presence of compromising information on Trump, and 35% of respondents disagree with them. Of the respondents, the majority (74%) are Democrats, and (18%) are Republicans.

Nevertheless, the number of those who are sure that Russia has compromising information has decreased by 2% (in comparison to the results of the April poll, when about 53 percent of respondent believed so).

The respondents were also asked whether they were satisfied with the actions of the US government to protect against potential «Russian interference» in the electoral process.

The majority of US citizens (62%) says officials should to take more serious measures to protect the elections in the United States, as 28% of Americans believe that the US is doing enough to prevent interference.

As The Journalist reported earlier, US senators demand on introduction of new, more strong sanctions against Russia.
