The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) warns participants of the petroleum products market about a possible increase in retail fuel prices due to the need to diversify sources of supply due to the Russian ban on supplies of petroleum products to Ukraine from June 1.

“About 80% of petroleum products are imported into Ukraine from the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, the resource supply of the market and its price situation directly depends on the stability of fuel supplies from these countries,” the Antimonopoly Committee reported.

The Committee noted that due to the restrictions imposed by Russia on the supply of gasoline, diesel fuel and liquefied gas to Ukraine, this creates a risk of violation of competition in the wholesale market of oil products in Ukraine and may cause an increase in fuel prices in the retail network, including with the need to diversify sources of supply.

“AMCU notified the Presidential Administration, the National Security and Defense Council and the Cabinet of Ministers about the existing threats regarding the resource filling of the market,” the Committee noted.

As The Journalist reported, registration of biometric documents become more expensive from July 1 in Ukraine.
