President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov to convene on Wednesday a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on reforming Ukroboronprom.
The head of state said about it at meeting of Council of regional development of the Nikolaev area.
"We have long planned the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine meeting with an agenda for reforming Ukroboronprom and increasing the transparency of its activities," the president said.
According to Poroshenko, the activities of the defense sector should be regulated by governmental, parliamentary and public control.
"In the morning I ordered the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Valentinovich Turchynov, to prepare this meeting, tentatively on Wednesday, to hold the necessary consultations with our foreign partners," the president added.
As The Journalist reported, Ukroboronprom will be reformed after investigating facts of embezzlement in Armed Forces of Ukraine.
