The occupation authorities in Donbas are calling on local residents to replace the “DNR/LNR” passports with Russian ones.

This was announced by the press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Maksym Prauta, referring to the General Intelligence Directorate.

"The Russian occupation administrations have stepped up measures to keep pro-Russian sentiment among the population of the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts," he said.

According to Prauta, the occupying authorities are intensively disseminating information about preparations for the phased replacement of the “DNR/LNR” passports with Russian ones.

It is noted that first of all passports of citizens of the Russian Federation will receive "civil servants and representatives of power structures".

"In such way Russian propaganda is trying to ensure the loyalty of the local population," said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine seeks to deprive Russia of its veto right at UN Security Council.
