The National Bank of Ukraine to introduce new 500 hryvnia banknote from February 22

From February 22, the National Bank of Ukraine put into circulation 500 hryvnia banknote of the 2015 design, with the signature of the NBU Chairman Yakiv Smoliy on them.

As reported on the website of the National Bank, the issue of banknotes is carried out to ensure cash turnover (within the planned for 2019 issue) and to replace worn, damaged and withdrawn from circulation banknotes of the relevant denomination.

Banks will accept 500 hryvnia banknotes of previous years design without restrictions.

The signature of the head of the National Bank is placed on banknotes in accordance to the law.
