Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prevented the illegal export of aviation engines, which are subject to mandatory state export control. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The source reports that in the framework of the official agreements, one of the Middle East countries sent four Mi-24 helicopters engines to the Ukrainian commercial structure in order to carry out the necessary repairs. However, due to the refusal of the customer to pay the cost of the work performed, the engines became the property of the state and were transferred to the commercial structure for further sale.
The report notes that two entrepreneurs from the city of Zaporizhia have found buyers for engines from a country sanctioned by the UN Security Council, having estimated the value of the goods to almost USD 1 million.
“Businessmen guaranteed to customers the free export of units from Ukraine under the guise of civilian products by forging a package of fake documentation. The criminals were detained in Zaporizhia while trying to sell four engines to the customer,” the report says.
The criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of Article 333 and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, priority investigative actions continue, in particular, searches are conducted in places of residence and work of detainees.
As The Journalist reported, law enforcement officers detained a border guard in Poltava for bribes.
