The European Central Bank has ended production banknotes with nominal value of EUR 500 of the first series, put into circulation in 2002.
According to the bank, 17 of the 19 central banks of the Eurozone stop putting these notes into circulation on January 27.
At the same time, Deutsche Bundesbank and Österreichische National bank will continue to issue notes until April 26, 2019.
These banknotes remain legal tender in the Eurozone and will retain their value, they can be exchanged at any central bank in the Eurozone.
At the same time, according to the National Bank of Ukraine, banks in the territory of the Ukrainian state will also accept banknotes of denominations EUR 500 for exchange while these banknotes are in circulation.
