In the mountains of Zakarpattia oblast, rescuers found four lost tourists, search for another one – a German citizen – continues.
This was reported in State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Zakarpattia.
“On January 24, at 4:20 pm, it was reported in the operational and rescue service of Zakarpattia that four snowboarders, all residents of Lviv, lost their bearings in the area of Mount Hemba. Tourists reported this to the rescuers in a telephone mode when they realized that they would not be able to return to the recreation center on their own,” the department said.
6 rescuers and 1 vehicle unit were sent to search and rescue tourists. The lost ones were found today at 01:10. Next, the men were taken to Berezniki in Svalyava district, from where they returned to the place of rest. The tourists did not need medical assistance.
Another report about the loss of a person in the mountains came from Drahobrat in Rakhiv district. The day before, on January 24, at 9:45, Rescue Service reported that a German citizen, born in 1971, was lost while skiing.
The rescuers examined the direction to the mountain valley of Urda and found the skis, which probably belonged to the missing person. After a survey of the Urda Valley, the missing tourist was not found.
