Since 2012, the Individuals Deposit Guarantee Fund has paid nearly UAH 90 billion to depositors of bankrupt banks, Hromadske reports.
The fund paid state-guaranteed deposits (up to UAH 200,000) to depositors of bankrupt banks for a total of UAH 88.9 billion since the introduction of the deposit guarantee system in 2012. At the same time, banks paid to fund UAH 14.33 billion of contributions. As a result, fund lent from the National Bank and the state budget UAH 74.57 billion.
It is also noted that banks paid contributions to the Fund in the total amount of UAH 3.5 billion in 2018. At the same time, the Ukrainians opened deposits in total amount of UAH 539.7 billion.
Recall that the fund covers the guaranteed amount of deposits in case the bank is being liquidated; the size of compensation does not exceed UAH 200,000.
