Pavlo Fuchs, businessman from Ukraine, who owns Ukrainian gas fields, was detained at the airport of the resort city of Cancun in Mexico.
According to TSN, Mexican law enforcement officers detained Fuchs on January 7, when he arrived on a charter flight together with the People’s Deputy from the “Popular Front” Andrii Ivanchuk. Both flew to Mexico with their wives to celebrate Christmas.
Subsequently, Ivanchuk was released.
It is also noted that Fuchs is still detained at the airport by the Mexican Migration Service and the rep of the Ukrainian embassy arrived to see him. It was clarified that the detention of Fuchs may be connected with the fact that the businessperson is blacklisted by the United States.
The TSN noted that in December 2017, Fuchs was detained by the migration service while passing the border with the United States. After several hours at the airport, Fuchs was forced to fly back. In turn, the businessman himself clarified that he was not deported and was not allowed in because of the allegedly incorrectly completed application form when he received the visa.
As The Journalist reported, NAPC made orders to Ministers Kubiv and Omelyan.
