From December 12, 2018 to January 8, 2019, 1037 Ukrainians applied for medical help with hypothermia and frostbite, and 955 of them had to be hospitalized. About this reports Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
“Most of all during this period, people suffered from hypothermia and frostbite in Donetsk (135 people), Kharkiv (121), Dnipropetrovsk (117), Kyiv (90) and Odessa (69) oblasts,” the statement reads.
This clarifies that, according to the forensic bureau, 64 people died as a result of general hypothermia (cold injury).
