SBU detained 71 foreign intelligence officer over past year

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Counterintelligence Department has exposed 71 people involved in the intelligence and subversive activities of foreign intelligence services in Ukraine in 2018, the press service of the SBU reports.

“At least 71 persons involved in the intelligence and subversive activities of foreign intelligence services were exposed by the SBU Counterintelligence Department. SBU investigators have launched 114 criminal proceedings under Article 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the statement said.

As The Journalist reported, the Security Service of Ukraine had detained the machine gunner, who had fought on the “DPR” side since 2014.
