In Greece, archaeologists have found the ruins of city of Tenea, founded in the XII-XIII centuries BC. It is noteworthy that for a long time there was no evidence that it really existed. About this reports the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Greece.
Tenea was found near the village of Hiliomodi in the Peloponnese. Researchers began work in the region in 2013. Scientists have discovered several cemeteries with gold ornaments in the graves. At the same time, black archaeologists dug up two statues of the Roman era. In September-October 2018, during the next stage of excavation, archaeologists first excavated the ruins of Tenea – fragments of walls, as well as clay, stone and marble floors. In addition, 200 Roman coins were found, indicating that Tenea was a rich trading city – it was on the path between the large ancient Greek cities of Corinth and Argos.
Earlier, The «Journalist» reported reported that archaeologists discovered the ruins of a church with unique frescoes.
