The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has said that more than 75 military were prosecuted in connection with the explosions at the ammunition depots over the past three years.

The Minister noted that most of the arsenals should have been closed in 2014 due to funding problems; restoring everything needs a lot amount of money.

According to Poltorak, there is another problem; after the layoffs and investigations not only a lack of funds to protect restricted areas, but also a shortage of personnel who would agree to take responsibility, knowing the lack of funds, became the real problem.

«After the events that took place here, starting with Svatovo, we changed a lot of things. About 75 people were brought to justice, including more than 20 generals. This led to another problem – nobody wants to occupy these posts now. Why? Because there are no financing, not mentioned it is very difficult to provide reliable security for the arsenal,» Channel 5 quotes the Minister, as saying.

As The Journalist reported, Ukraine will procure Turkish unmanned combat aerial vehicles.
