The Court of Switzerland prohibited thecompanies Nord Stream AG (owner of the Nord Stream gas pipeline) and Nord Stream 2 AG (construction operator of Nord Stream-2) to make any payments to Gazprom.

This was announced by the Russian company in the prospectus to the Eurobonds issue, Deutsche Welle reported.

The decision was taken as a temporary interim measure at a lawsuit filed by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.

The document states that «as a result of the ban, all payments from these companies to Gazprom are sent to Swiss bailiffs.»

Recall that on February 28, 2018, the Stockholm Arbitration Court made a final decision in the dispute between the Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Russian Gazprom under the contract on gas transit via Ukraine.

According to him, the Russian company must pay the Ukrainian side USD 2.6 billion for insufficient gas transit volumes.

In May, Naftogaz began to collect assets from Russian Gazprom in a number of European countries. For example, shares of the Nord Stream AG and Nord Stream 2 AG companies were arrested in Switzerland, as well as Gazprom’s assets in the UK and the Netherlands.

Recall that the gas transit contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom valid from 2009 to 2019.

As The Journalist reported, Naftogaz’ claims against Gazprom in Stockholm Arbitration exceeded USD 12 bln.
