Primate of Finnish Orthodox Church supports new Ukrainian Church

During his working visit to the Republic of Finland, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with the head of Finnish Orthodox Church, His Eminence, Archbishop Lev, press service of the head of the Ukrainian state.

It is noted that Poroshenko thanked Archbishop Lev for supporting Orthodox Church of Finland autocephaly of Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

«Ukrainians have the right to create their own church, as the Finns had the right 100 years ago», said the head of the Finnish Orthodox Church.
«Ukrainians have the right to an independent church from Russia, because Russia today is a country of the aggressor», said the head of the Ukrainian state.
The interlocutors discussed practical preparations for receiving the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Tomos.

As reported by The «Journalist» Poroshenko said that the Russian Orthodox Church and Russian troops have nothing to do in Ukraine.
