Verkhovna Rada set up special comission to investigate attacks on Gandziuk, other activists

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted resolution on Creation of the Temporary Investigation Commission (TIC) of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate information regarding attacks on Kateryna Gandziuk and other public activists.

This decision was baked by 259 deputies of Ukraine.

The decree provides for electing a people’s deputy of Ukraine, Borislav Berez (extra fractional), as a chairman of the Temporary Investigation Commission, and people’s deputy of Ukraine Serhiy Alekseyev (Bloc Petro Poroshenko faction) as a deputy chairman of the TIC.

Also, the resolution defines the main tasks for Investigation Commission. Among them the verification of information regarding the attacks on Kateryna Gandziuk and other public activists; checking the progress of investigation on attacks on Gandziuk and other public activists, held by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies; establishing, collecting information and receiving explanations from individuals and/or enterprises, institutions, organizations, central and local executive authorities and local governments, and their officials involved in activities related to the range of issues for which the Investigation Commission was created.
