The United States of America has allocated USD 40 million for Global Engagement Center (GEC) and their efforts in countering disinformation and fighting against propaganda from foreign governments. This was reported by the representative of the US State Department, Robert Palladino.

Funding will support a variety of efforts to counter Russian, Iranian and Chinese propaganda.

«The financing includes additional USD 20 million allocated by the Congress in the 2018 fiscal year, as well as USD 20 million from the budget of the Ministry of Defense, transferred to the State Department,» the statement said.

Palladino noted that include using technologies for early warnings of foreign disinformation; analyzing those foreign audiences that are most susceptible to this disinformation; developing partnerships with key leading social media organizations to produce relevant content to reach critical audiences, as well as contacts with nongovernmental organizations to «shed light on the spread of disinformation.»

As The Journalist reported, the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation expressed its protest over dismantling of the monument of gratitude to Soviet soldiers in Poland.
