Ukraine could get USD 8 bln within new IMF program

The new program from the International Monetary Fund can will make it easier for Ukraine to get access funding in the amount of $8 billion and will allow it maintaining quiet a stable hryvnia exchange rate next year. Anders Aslund, an analyst of the American Center of Atlantic Council told this in an interview with Voice of America.

«Ukraine is likely to receive USD 2 billion from the IMF, USD 2 billion from the EU and the World Bank, the Ukrainian government is likely to place another USD 2 billion eurobonds, also state-owned companies are likely to place USD 2 billion eurobonds or more,» Mr Aslund stated.

At the same time, it is noted that the IMF program will allow settling two main factors that have caused observers concern: the limited reserves of the central bank and the limited budget funds.
As The Journalist reported, it is critical for Ukraine to fulfill the IMF’s conditions for gas price.
