Historical decision: Poroshenko signs decree on decision to terminate Treaty of Friendship with Russia

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree, according to which the treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership with the Russian Federation is terminated. This is reported on the official website of the Head of State.

«According to the decision, the NSDC supported the proposals of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding the termination of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation signed on May 31, 1997, were supported,» – the statement said.

This is about decree «On the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine of September 6, 2018,»

It should be noted, that the Russian side will be informed of the decision until September 30, 2018.
