Belarus Government refused IMF loan program because of a possible shock for population. About this informs DW.

Finance Minister of Belarus Maxim Ermolovych stated that Belarusian government refused IMF credit program. This decision is due to the fact that IMF insisted on implementing the reform program in a shorter period than it was previously agreed by government.

«Head of state pointed out that it would be a shock for our population and this cannot be done. Therefore, government refused program with IMF», Yermolovych said.

Message says that Minsk does not note any conceptual disagreements on nature of reforms in dialogue with IMF.

Earlier Journalist reported that Acting Finance Minister Oksana Markarova conducted meeting with the head of mission of International Monetary Fund Ron van Roden and permanent representative of IMF in Ukraine Josta Ljungman.
