Ukraine’s ambassador to the US Valeriy Chaly said that Ukraine has filed a request to the US authorities to purchase air defense systems worth $ 750 million for one unit.
Diplomat noted that at least three such military complexes are necessary for the Ukrainian army.
«Our needs of the next period, in my opinion, are the maritime space, military airspace. Without this, we simply cannot ensure the defense of the country», ambassador said on air Radio NV.
Chaly said that Ukraine also needs drone, counterbattery radar and counter-sniper systems.
Ambassador added that the relevant request was voiced at top and high level, namely at meetings of presidents of Ukraine and the United States in Brussels. Also, this was discussed at meetings of Ukrainian side with the US national security adviser John Bolton.
Other details of this request Chaly refused to voice, referring to the secrecy of the information.
