The rescue team managed to evacuate a female Ukrainian tourist, who was too exhausted to make the descent from the Mount Elbrus herself and signaled to the rescue team, using her flashlight, 112.Ukraine news agency reports.
The attendant of Elbrus High Mountain Search and Rescue Team (Russia’s Emergencies Ministry) reported that the woman was was brought down from Elbrus from an altitude of 5250 meters above sea level. Three rescuers were involved in the rescue operation.
There are no threats to her life.
It is noted that the tourist was non-registered.
As The Journalist reported earlier, the body of missing alpinist who conquered the peak in 1987 was found at Mount Elbrus.
