US will reduce its payments to UN’s Human Rights Council

The United States intends to reduce its funding for the United Nations Council, Houston Chronicle news agency reports.

Advisor to the US President for National Security, John Bolton, has said that currently the United States provides 22% of the budget of the Human Rights Council (HRC) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. But these payments will be reduced soon. At the same time, the amount is not being specified.
It is stressed that the US authorities expect that the cost reduction «will have an impact» on the UN Human Rights Council.
