The official representative of the State Department of the United States, Heather Nauert, issued a statement in which she urged the Russian authorities to release the Ukrainian director Oleh Sentsov.
«We are deeply concerned about the fact that another innocent person is dying in the Russian prison,» – the State Department spokeswoman said.
According to Nauert, Washington hopes that the Russian authorities will release Sentsov in order to avoid such a tragedy, which would inevitably lead to the United States calls for bringing those responsible persons to justice for the possible death of the director.
Recall that Oleh Sentsov, who is held in the Russian colony, has been starving for more than 100 days.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Czech filmmakers announced a hunger strike in support of Sentsov.
