Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly said that the United States will help Ukraine to counteract Russia’s interference in the presidential elections in 2019.
The diplomat said this at the press conference on the topic: «Ukraine-US: Why can we talk about a new level of partnership».
Chaly noted that the US will not support any specific candidate in the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2019.
«The US will help us in counteracting Russia’s interference in Ukraine elections. The threat that this will happen is very likely. And, it’s not just cyber attacks, but this is a possible direct intervention in the elections,» – Chaly said.
The diplomat noted that the matter concerns interference in the elections in Ukraine from different countries, and first of all from Russia.
As The Journalist reported, Trump’s adviser urged Washington to use cyber attacks in response to attempts to interfere in the 2018 elections.
