The Turkish authorities have filled a complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO), due to the decision by US President Donald Tramp to increase tariffs on Turkish steel and aluminum. This was reported by the press service of the WTO.
It is reported that the Turkey drew the WTO’s attention that the tariffs were doubled. In addition, the request notes that such steps made by the US are in conflict with the Agreement on Safety and with the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
«After WTO receipt the complaint, it initiates a dispute between the parties. In case of a failure to reach a solution that suits everyone within 60 days after the receipt of the complaint, then the applicant can ask the WTO to make his decision,» – the World Trade Organization said.
