In Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian soldiers carried out a special operation directed against the drug business, as a result of which 12 people were killed. Many people closed their homes because of fear of being shot. About this informs Reuters.

«At least five civilians and one soldier were killed in gunfire in northern Rio de Janeiro. At least six suspected gangsters were also killed. Four people were killed in a shootout with police, and two others died in hospital», report said.
